Walking and Talking Therapy
Stepping Out Into Nature
Alleviate C&P offers a Person-Centred approach to counselling, focusing on relationships, starting with building a relationship of trust between counsellor and client. This approach to counselling can help alleviate emotional distress in many different forms, such as anxiety and depression, as well as working through bereavement, loss or relationship work to name but a few areas.
Walking and Talking therapy gives the chance to loosen the formal feel that some may experience with face-to-face sessions in the office or remotely. Whilst not for everyone, I am true believer in the therapeutic benefits of being in nature. And thanks to my two Spaniels, Lottie and Leo, I have a choice of set routes in mind to fit the timing of a 60 minute session, and to ensure the route isn’t too strenuous. All I ask is that you bring comfy walking shoes, weather appropriate attire and a shared optimism that the British weather will be on our side.
Why Choose Alleviate?
The counselling service is provided by Bethan Creighton, a counsellor with over 2,000 hours experience across a wide variety of client needs and 13 years experience working in mental health. This extensive experience is accompanied by an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma and Master's Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
With over 50 hours of Walking Therapy experience Bethan is attuned to the finer details of making an outdoor session both enjoyable and emotionally safe. This includes a plan of what we would say if either of us saw somebody that we knew, what to do in a busy outdoor environment and how to support you with deeper emotions whilst outdoors.
